Our Story
614 Day began in 2015 with a simple idea: celebrate the city we love. The event was created by a group of passionate Columbus residents who wanted to showcase their pride in the city.
The first 614 Day was a modest gathering outside Seventh Son Brewing in Italian Village, with just a handful of friends enjoying music and good company. What started as a casual “Sunday Funday” quickly evolved into something more meaningful and intentional through the collaborative efforts of multiple community leaders. Each year since, the celebration has grown in both size and purpose.
By 2019, 614 Day had become so significant to the city’s identity that Columbus City Council officially recognized June 14th as an official city holiday. Today, thousands of residents participate, making 614 Day a cornerstone event for celebrating Columbus’s vibrant culture and community.
Our Mission
The mission of 614 Day is simple but powerful: to champion all things local in Columbus. We aim to:
● Celebrate and promote Columbus’s unique culture, businesses, and communities
● Create opportunities for residents to discover hidden gems in their own backyard
● Build connections between local businesses, artists, musicians, and community members
● Instill civic pride and encourage investment in our city’s future

impact 614 Day provides a platform to build meaningful connections and showcases what makes Columbus special, helping everyone discover and appreciate all our city has to offer. We exist to celebrate everything local.
